New Blog Name
Since my blog seems to have nothing to do with math anymore I've been thinking about changing it's name for awhile. See the post here from April. Anyways I finally decided the name really needed to change so Dan and I were throwing around names tonight. We thought about Crunchy Kids and debated a couple of others as well. I ended up throwing out A Mile from Mainstream. We both stopped and went that's it. So Math Freak is now A Mile from Mainstream. I didn't want anything too child centered since even though most of the blog is about Desmond, and his future sibling, it is still my blog. I think this new name works well, let me know what you think.

New Blog Name?
I'm thinking about changing the name of this blog since it really has nothing to do with Math at all anymore. I'm just not sure what to rename it as, does anyone have any ideas? I don't want it to be specific to Desmond since I figure when I have more children I'll talk and post about them too. I also like to occasionally post about things other then Desmond, okay rare but still.
I'm just having problems coming up with a good name, so I am definitely looking for suggestions if anyone has any.

Updated Look
I decided it was about time to update the look of the blog, since I haven't changed it since November 06. I decided to go with a Spring theme. I like it, which is good, since if the fact it has been a year and a half since I last updated my look is any indication, it will probably be awhile till I update this one. I think it is a nice spring time look, so enjoy.

Cloth DIaper Info
Someone on a messageboard I visit asked about cloth diapers, and I wrote out the following response. I decided it was a fairly decent review of different types of cloth diapers, so I wanted to keep it saved so I can use it again if needed. So everyone on my blog can enjoy my info about cloth diapers post.
Here is some basic information about cloth diapers. First off the best brand really depends on your child and how you want to diaper them. There are thousands of different types of cloth diapers. The basic types are: Flats, Prefolds, Fitteds (and prefitteds), Pockets, All in Ones (and All in Twos).
Everything but Pockets and All in Ones (and All in Twos) need covers.
Your cheapest Option is Flats or Prefolds, Flats are one straight sheet of cloth which you fold to your needs, most new users don't use them since they have a large learning curve. I haven't used them yet, though we are thinking about using them when we go to India, just because they are extremely easy to pack (take up next to no room) and they wash and dry easily. Basically they look like the basic recieving blanket, when unfolded.
Prefolds are similar to Flats and what most people think of when you say cloth diapers. They are made into three panels, 2 outside and one inside. The outside panels have between 2 and 4 layers od cloth and the inside layers have between 4 and 8 layers of cloth. Most are cotton, but there are velour, bamboo, hemp and other types that you can find it you look for them. You then fold the diaper to fit around your child and pin it(or snappi it) or just put it in the cover without pinning it.
Your next option are Fitteds or Prefitteds. These are what we normally use. There are tons of brands for these. Basically a prefitted is a prefold, cut and sometimes with elastic in it, made into a diaper shape so all you have to do is put it on the baby without worrying about folding, they can have snaps (our mainly do) or elastic on them so you don't have to worry about how to fasten them. Fitteds are basically the same as prefitteds, but they use other materiels then the prefold. They almost always have fastenings.
Next are pockets, All in Ones, and All in Twos. None of these diapers need a cover. They are the closest to disposables you can get. We have used both pockets and All in Ones (I'm not that sure about all in 2s). They are great for going out since you don't need a separate cover. Pocket diapers have an area where you insert a lining, which is nice in that you can decide how absorbent to make it, on the other hand you have to remove the lining before washing. All in Ones have everything there, no stuffing just put it on and go. The negative to these is they can take longer to wash, because everything is in the diaper. The All in 2s are like All in Ones, but I believe they have a snap in lining rather then having it sewn in, to make drying faster (I'm not very sure about these, I've never had any or seen any, they are fairly rare).
The last thing to know about for diapers is for any of them but the All in Ones and Pockets you need a cover for them. They are various types of covers, wool (which we use) PUL (waterproof materiel) and Fleece are the normal and most common types. These need to be on the diapers when you put clothes on the baby otherwise their clothes will get wet. We actually tend to leave Desmond coverless at home, which is why most pictures of him have him in just his diaper (I'm lazy and he needs to be changed a lot).
I hope this post helps explain a bit about the differences in the various types of diapers that are out there.

I get a crown, yay or something!
So I just went to the dentist, so he could do that whole look at my tooth and agree that he needs to do something about it thing that dentists always do. It appears it wasn't a popped cavity, it appears my tooth broke, oops. So I get to get a crown, I am so overjoyed by this fact. It is just what I always wanted for the New Year, a crown!

Updates and such
Okay so it has been awhile since I posted, sorry about that. Now onto updates. The small one is standing and cruising, eek! He is getting really good at the standing thing too, and has started to nt hold onto anything for a second or two before falling, I am so not ready for this. He is on the move between crawling and crusing though and likes to get into everything. He is eating some food now, we don't give him stuff daily but normally two to three times a week he'll get something to eat. He really likes feeding himself cheerios as well, which makes for a good distraction.
We got back from a week with my parents which went fine, but what is up with rice cereal? We decided we'd rather not give him rice cereal and you would have thought we'd announced that he was never going to get to eat food or something. I mean he eats well and has no problem with the various foods we've given him I don't see why he needs rice cereal it isn't like it is anything but empty calories anyways.
We head back to Atlanta on Tuesday for Thanksgiving where I am sure we'll get the rice cereal comments again. Oh well I am good at ignoring suggestions and saying no, so I'll just practice that.
Nothing much going on other then with the small one, K is a bit hyper and we had replace the starter on Dan's car, an unexpected expense, yesterday because his car won't start. Other then that though everything is going well. I think I may try to start back with teaching myself Latin again at the start of the year.

Time for an update?
So it's been a few weeks again so I should probably update. Let's see, we got an Aquarium membership and went 2 Sundays ago. It was nice and Desmond liked looking at the fishies. We didn't stay for the Dolphin show because he was getting fussy so instead we spent an hour trying to get out of Baltimore, I hate the inner harbor and Baltimore it is hard to find your way out once you are in.
Desmond has his 4 month doctor's appointment tomorrow, so we'll see how much he's grown then. I'm guessing 26 inches and 18ish pounds. He'll be getting one shot and we'll have to make appointments for the second shots of the ones he has gotten so far. We're sticking with our one shot a month plan for the moment I think.
Desmond is teething we're pretty sure, he doesn't like to go to bed now either, he's his Mommy's baby isn't he? He will go down and then be back up about an hour later, before going down an hour later. On the plus side, once he is finally out he's out for the night and he sleeps till around 10am which I appreciate.
Dan's company lost their recompete, so we had a couple of days of worry over here while he was figuring what to do. The company that won it offered him a job (basically his current job) with a nice 10ish% raise, so he took it. His current company wasn't on the ball with getting people interviews internally and such and with Desmond he didn't want to push his luck in finding something. He also figured he's been with his current company for 9 months so he doesn't have much company loyalty yet. Our health insurance is changing for a third time this year now, joy. Fortunately the doctors we care about are all on the new plan as well, so we should be set. Copays are a bit less as are prescription costs, the monthly cost of the plan is a bit more then currently but we still come out ahead since his new company gives him a 75$ a month travel budget which makes up for the health insurance increase. Overall we think the benefits are a bit better at the new company. He won't be able to work from home right away, but we're hopefully he can work it out so he can again in a few months. We also get to go to Disney still so I'm happy.
Desmond and I joined Gymboree, we had fun at our first class so we decided to go ahead and sign up, it is a way for us to get out of the house at least once a week which will be nice. We'll see how it goes, he seems so much older then the other babies in the 0 to 6 month class, even if he is the second youngest, the youngest is 4 days younger then him.
Other then that not much else going on. We did celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary on the 5th of August. Well actually we celebrated on the 4th, my inlaws came up and baby sat Des while Dan and I went out to dinner, we had fun, it was kind of weird being out without the baby though. It is only the third time we've done something without him since he was born.
It has been a busy few weeks, but things will probably settle down by January or so, hopefully at least.

Recent Stuff
Let's see, been about 3 weeks since I last posted maybe? Updates then, the wedding in New York was nice. Desmond was invited to the dinner the night before and we all had fun, he got passed around a lot. We headed out a little early because he was getting fussy, probably from the day of traveling and such. He did great on the train up to NYC.
The next day we went to FAO with my sister and brother and brother's girlfriend. It was fun, we got Desmond a hippo, so it can go berserk. The wedding was nice, my brother's girlfriend babysat Desmond while the rest of us went to the wedding. My brother left really early because he was sick (so of course he went to our hotel room and hung out with Desmond and his girlfriend). We left after dinner because honestly we knew the groom, his family and my family, so it wasn't all that interesting. We headed back to the hotel room and everything had gone well with baby boy. Oh yeah there was the whole leaving him with someone other then one of us for 4+ hour thing too that had us leaving early.
Memorial day we had brunch, which was nice, then Desmond and I left with my parents and one of my sister's to head to Atlanta. Dan caught a train home. Desmond had his first plane ride in first class. I had to let him know that it was unlikely to ever happen again, so enjoy it now. He slept through the whole flight which worked well.
We then spent the week with my parents, we were going to go to the lake house, but my Grandfather ended up in the hospital, so we stayed in the city. It was nice though, and my Grandfather is fine. The flight back was fairly easy. Getting through the airport alone with Desmond was a bit "fun", but it was doable. On the plane we ended up with the row to ourselves, since the people in the other two seats moved to the exit row, because the plane was empty. So he slept on their seats for the whole ride. Worked out wonderfully.
Not much happened last week, hung out at home mainly. We did get a Costco membership, but that is about the most exciting thing. Baby got a few more presents from people as well and a set of diapers we had ordered for him came in, bamboo diapers are so soft and nice, I'm in love. Other then that pretty quiet week.
My inlaws came up and visited on Saturday, which was nice. We gave them a nice picture of Desmond that we had done when my Mom was up, and then took some pictures of us with Desmond to send to India. Other then that not much went on this weekend other then general errands and such.
Think that is about it. Not much going on around here that don't relate to the baby. My Mom is up this weekend and we're heading down to Richmond so she can see her parents and Desmond can meet my Grandfather on that side. Plus he'll get to meet most of the other relatives he hasn't yet. Other then that we're getting the house ready for Dan's Bday party.

Updates
Okay so it has been awhile since I posted last. Oops or something. We went to the Trans Siberian Orchestra, it wasn't exactly what either of us were expecting but it interesting. We decided we prefer their cds to the concert though.
The new floor is finished. It took a couple days longer then expected, but it looks really nice, maybe I'll post pictures eventually. The wood looks great as does the tile in the bathrooms. Really glad it is done now. We decided we really like the living room mostly empty now we just need to figure out how to keep it this way.
Staying at my parents was fine. Went to the High Museum and saw the Louvre exhibit which was nice. Went shopping with my Mom got a few things for the baby. Brought home the 6823094 outfits she had bought for him. Was a nice week down there, probably won't see my Dad till April and the baby is born now, should see my Mom sometime next month for the baby shower and such.
Haven't heard anything about the baby furniture hopefully we will hear something soon though it was 14 weeks from when we ordered it in December so maybe sometime next month before we hear anything.
Haven't done a ton this past week just relaxing mainly. Need to work on the baby's room some and then the rest of the house now that the floor is done.
Need to go in and take my Gestational Diabetes test still, was planning to go in today, but it snowed last night and I am not really that comfortable driving in the snow so it maybe tomorrow, which is a bit later then I planned to do it.
Other then that we got about an inch and a half of snow yesterday it was nice to finally have snow this season. Who knows if we'll get anymore.
Those are all the basics as far as I can tell.

Random Updates
Well I meant to post last week, but you know what they say about intentions, actually what do they say about intentions? Anyways, Finished our Xmas and Hanukkah shopping fairly easily. I had Dan's all done before the end of Hanukkah, we had to get a few more gifts on the Friday before Christmas but stores weren't too bad. Which was nice, everyone seemed to enjoy their gifts. I am a bit disappointed that one of the gifts I got doesn't work at the moment, but should eventually so it will be good then.
For the first weekend of Hanukkah we ended up getting our big presents, which weren't actually planned. We got a Xbox360 and a new HD-TV flat panel. They are both nice, and we've been getting a lot of use out of them so it seems like a good purchase over all.
Other then presents and such not much has been going on the past few weeks, we've replaced the sink cabinets in three of the four bathrooms, we're not planning on changing the last one at this point in time. We still need to hook up one sink, because Dan isn't sure which pieces he needs to do it, but the other two seem to be working decently. We need to clean out the first floor this weekend since they are coming to replace the floors on the 8th so everything must be removed that we can.
Otherwise nothing much else going on house wise.

Weekend and such
Let's see this weekend was fairly calm over all. We didn't do anything with the whole cleaning theme, oh well. What we did was erm Friday something? I honestly can't remember Friday maybe dinner out somewhere and such but I won't promise that since I really can't remember.
Saturday we ran various errand, we went to the baby store where we bought our furniture and ordered the bed conversion kit, in case we want to change the crib to a real bed some day. They were also having a cord blood seminar that we went too. We assumed it would be a general discussion about cord blood etc, it wasn't it was put on by one of the cord blood banks so basically it was a 30 minute bank your cord blood with us thing. If we hadn't been planning on banking the cord blood it definitely won't have convinced us. So it was mostly worthless. We had lunch after that, and did other stuff. Dan looked at the main bathroom upstairs and we visited Home Depot to buy a few things he would need to tear out the cabinets.
Sunday was tearing things up day. I think we got to visit Home Depot 4 or 5 times, well I did I think Dan got to visit 6 or 7 times, since in the evening I made him go alone because I didn't want to go again. He tore out the cabinet in the main bathroom and installed the new one, it looks good, though all the plumbing insides aren't together yet, he also did the master bedroom bathroom which looks good too though again is missing some innards. So hopefully this week we'll finish up on them and have both upstairs sinks working again.
So it was a fairly busy and productive weekend. Next weekend we're doing the sink in the first floor bathroom. Then painting and such and doing medicine cabinets and such so everything is in place before they come to do the flooring.

Holidays and Presents
Okay so I have a few posts for today, I was planning on putting some of these up earlier but never got around to it so you get a bunch of posts at once. Enjoy.
Anyways, Dan and I have to come up with a couple of small presents for each other for Christmas Day. Normally this isn't a huge deal, but we are trying to declutter this year, which means that there really isn't a lot either of us wants. I found a couple of things for me that I have ordered, but I was looking for a pewter dragon or two for Dan and I can't find any good one this year, which kind of sucks. I found a couple of okay ones, but we are trying not to settle for okay gifts this year. It won't be a big problem, but we spend Christmas Day at my in-laws since we spend Thanksgiving with my parents, and we always exchange gifts in the morning so we need to have 4 or so gifts for each other.
I did finally come up with one thing for Dan I got tickets for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra on the 30th of December, so that is one of his presents, I'll probably wrap one of the James Bond collections as well, which means I just need to come up with two more things for him, I am just clueless about what to get him since there really isn't anything small that he really wants this year.

Elections coming up
So the midterm elections are coming up on Tuesday. Which is great, I'll go out and vote. However, the thing that is annoying me about them is the random people calling trying to get me to vote for their candidate. Let me tell you I don't listen to the phone messages and even if I do they normally make me want to vote for your competitor. So if the politicians knew what they were doing they won't be calling my house. Anyways we got a call today, which I let go to voice mail, since that normally stops over half the random calls. Was for someone or another, since I was in the kitchen getting breakfast I listened to the pitch, and went "Wow, nice to know now I am definitely voting for your opponent since I totally don't agree with your take on this issue." So I guess the people calling have done their duty they have me going out to vote, though their candidate is the last person I would vote for now. Go politics!

Updates on stuff
So I haven't posted much recently. Mainly because there hasn't been a ton going on. I mean we've had various things happening, but nothing extremely exciting or such.
Dan started his new job on October 2nd and seems to be enjoying it. The few downsides to it, being he can't work from home yet, probably not till it is perm rather then temp, so he missed my last midwife appointment, which wasn't huge but still. Other problem being since he is temp right now he doesn't get paid when he has federal holidays off which means he has to work his 40 hours on the other 4 days, which kinds of sucks and means we aren't going down to my parents for Thanksgiving since he has to work the Friday after Thanksgiving. Oh well, will be the second time in the past 11 years we haven't had Thanksgiving with my parents, and the other time was back when I was in Israel. No clue what we're going to do instead, probably either go to his parents or down to my Aunt Mary's.
Babywise everything is going well, not much different, I have my next doctor's appointment on Friday, I should get to hear the heartbeat again which will be nice. Everything seems to be going well though I should probably be eating more dairy for calcium still. I'll update this weekend or next week about the appointment. Should have the big Ultrasound sometime in November, I'm hoping for the 10th since Dan will be home for Veteran's Day then anyways and it will make it easier for him to come.
Housewise, Dan has to put the border up in the baby's room still, but other then that it is finished being painted. We need to buy the stuff to do the closet for all three upstairs rooms, maybe this weekend or next weekend. Dan's also painted K's room and done most of the trim work as well, we went with a purpleish/blue color with yellow trim in there it looks nice. The contractor came out yesterday so he can give us an estimate on some of the other housework that needs to be done. We are redoing two of the bathrooms, the first floor half bath and the upstairs main bath. Dan was recaulking the upstairs bath and found that the tile was loose so we have to have them retile it, and since they will be here we decided to see how much it would cost for them to retile the floors as well and put in the new fixtures and cabnets. Hopefully we'll hear how much the damage will be next week. We still need to find a landscaper as well since Claire's brother apparently only works in Towson area. We'll get to that eventually I'm sure.
Other then that we've had a couple of semi busy weekends, last weekend we had a Halloween party to go to on Saturday which was fun. The week before that one of Dan's friend's from his old job was having a small get together for his birthday so we went to that. Amusingly enough he is college friends with our neighbors (3 doors down) so we got to hang out with them as well. Next Saturday we have another Halloween party at our neighbor's house. So it should be nice, but definately a busy few weeks. Hopefully we'll get to cleaning the house again this weekend or next.
Other then that not too much going on here, other then this obnoxious cold I've had for over a week.

A bit late, but happy 1 year blogging
So I started this blog August 21st 2005. So it has been just over one year. I haven't been the most consistant blogger, there were a couple of months I didn't post anything at all. Either way, happy 1 year of blogging to me. Hopefully I'll do better this year and post a bit more.

Back from Disney
Well we are home safe and sound. Disney was a lot of fun. I liked Pop Century where we stayed the first night, though it wasn't that great probably would give it 3 stars. I enjoyed Animal Kingdom Lodge where we stayed the other 10 nights would give it 4 stars. Actually to be fair the La Quinta we stayed at on the way home would also get 4 stars and it was cheaper then both Disney hotels, though a bit smaller then the AKL room, so if Disney had La Quinta on-site I would be happiest there out of the three hotels we stayed at.
The food was good most places we ate though there were some detractors (Flying Fish) and some amazing places (Narcoosees). The rides were fun and the redone PotC was nice, though we did decide we do like Disneyland's verision better, now that we have been closer in time and all.
Overall it was a lot of fun, though it was a lot of driving there and home, it is nice to be home with the puppy now, so we've spent most of today relaxing and grocery shopping so we have food in the house.

Weird hair effect (Or why the heck is half my hair white overnight?)
Okay so I was looking in the mirror today not something I do compulsively mind you, but I do glance at my reflection when washing my hands and such, or when doing my hair to go out somewhere (other then basic places, ie out with friends). So what do I notice but a white hair. Okay not a huge deal I occationally get a white hair or two, no problem just pull it out and it is gone.
Well normally that is all there is to it, until I noticed another one, and another one, and wait is that another one? I counted at least 40 white hairs tonight (okay I pulled out at least 40 white hairs tonight, maybe I am a bit vain, but damn it I am 28 no white hair till I'm at least 35). Where the heck did they all come from? I swear they were not there on Saturday when I actually spent time fixing my hair up decently (since we were going over to a friends house and all). In fact I am almost willing to swear they weren't there yesterday, so overnight I suddenly ended up with over 40 white hairs, what is up with that? Anyone else ever have spontaneous overnight white hairs?
All I'm hoping is it is a one time thing and I'm not really going white, because dang it I am only 28 and then I would have to find a real hairdresser so I can dye it, because I refuse to have white hair at 28.

Blog Tempate Updated
So I got around to updating my blog, it is now no longer Winter Themed. It is now Disney Themed (okay more Winnie the Pooh and Tigger then anything, but who's counting?). This is in honor of our upcoming trip to Disney for our 5th Aniversery, we'll be heading there August 14th so the theme will be good till fall or atleast till we get back. Enjoy and let me know if there are any problems with it.

Contrary to rumours I am still alive
Yes I am still living, I just haven't gotten around to blogging for awhile. I did warn everyone when I started this blog that that could happen. I am still around, breathing and in good health. I should be posting more frequently I believe, so let's see if it really happens.

New York City Review
Just got back from NYC on Sunday. We went from the 29th through the 1st. We left around 11am on the train and arrived in the city around 1:30, got to the hotel after a short misdirection on the subway and got our room. We got a nice room you could see Times Square from the room, well a drop of it.
We dropped off our stuff and headed out for lunch, then headed back to the room and hung out for awhile since Dan was feeling kind of icky and it was raining outside so shopping and stuff wasn't likely. We had dinner from the Deli in the hotel and it was good, before heading to bed. We didn't do much the first day.
On the 30th Dan woke up first and went and picked up bagels, we ate in the room and got a semi late start. Headed out around 1pm because we were being semi-lazy, got to Wicked fairly quickly was only a couple of blocks from the hotel, we left early since it wasn't right on broadway so we weren't exactly sure where it was. The show was amazing. The songs were great, the story was good, it all came together amazingly. Dan had a few problems with it because it was not true to the book. Since I had never read the book it didn't bother me at all. It was so worth it and it is probably something we will see again.
Got home after the show and rested in the room before heading out to dinner around 6ish. There was a nice restaurant across the street from the hotel that we ate at last time we were there. So we headed over, the food was great though the service was a bit slow since the waitress was in charge of about 15 tables. Got back to the room around 8:30/9pm and watched the Law and Order SVU marathon on USA.
Got up a bit late again on Saturday and had bagels again for breakfast. Headed out for the show a little early because we had to get wrist bands so we could get through security and into the hotel. Got to the show a bit early, since it was all of 3 minutes from the hotel (the hotel is right next to the Phantom of the Opera theatre and Spamalot is right next to The Phantom of the Opera). The seats were smaller then the ones in Wicked which kind of sucked. The show itself was hilarious. However, compared to Wicked it was just okay. They broke the 4th wall a bit too often and it didn't work as escapism, which is fine, but part of what I like about the theatre. I am really glad we went, but we probably won't see it again.
On the plus side I did get killer rabbit slippers.
Got home and got an early dinner from the deli. We then opened the curtains in the room and watched the people freezing in Time Square from our hotel room as we were nice and comfy and watching the Law and Order CI marathon on USA. It was a nice night. Wished each other Happy New Year. Headed to bed a bit early.
Got up on the first and packed everything up and headed to the subway. Caught our train and headed home. Got home, and hung out a bit there. Overall it was a great trip and really enjoyable I'm glad we did it, won't have minded an extra day so that we would have had time to shop some, but I can always go back.

It Snowed!
It snowed last night, more then it snowed earlier this week so I got a couple of pictures of K-line in the snow, and was able to update the header with a K-line in the snow picture.
Not much else going on, our new furniture arrived last weekend it looks good and is comfy which is good. One of Atty's office friends is going to take the old sofa since Goodwill and the Salvation Army won't.
This weekend is going to be pretty boring I need to start studying for finals since they start on Thursday. I have one Thursday, one Friday, one Saturday and one Monday. The Thursday, Friday and Saturday ones are at 8am which sucks since it means I need to leave by 6:30am. On the plus side I'll be home before noon which is nice I guess.
We're going to atty's parents for Christmas like always, though this year we are going to try to get his grandmother to come down as well. On the 26th we'll be heading to Richmond, since that is when the Dodd annual Christmas party will be. I should find out whose house that is at. On the 29th we head up to NYC for our New Years trip. We'll be seeing Wicked on the 30th at the midday showing and Spamalot on the 31st at the midday showing as well, since there is no evening showing. We'll head back home on the 1st because the hotel was booked for the night of the first when we registered which kind of sucked we were planning to stay till the second. Then again it might be a good thing my winter semester classes either start the 2nd or the 3rd. I'm taking Javascript to get my computer science/programing class out of the way. It should be a fairly easy class I hope.
Anyways that is about it for now, I'll probably post some more after finals, or maybe this week while procrastinating about studying for finals.

Updates and Such
Well as you may have noticed I winterfied my blog. I may change it again after we get snow, so I can have a recent pictures of K in the snow up.
Let's see haven't written in awhile so let's see what is new. I'm working for SSAI part time at the moment which is nice since I can do it from home or school. Classes are going okay only two more weeks to go hopefully I'll do decently this semester.
Thanksgiving was fun drove down to my parents lake house. That place is huge, the movie theatre/projection room is really cool. It was really pretty down there and we had great weather for Thankgiving. Gave everyone there Hanukah presents.
I am done buying stuff for Dan for Hanukah I think, just got his last thing, the complete Calvin and Hobes Collection. Amazon had it at a discount which was nice.
Other then that not much going on. K-line just got back from Daycamp where he had a nice day running around so hopefully he'll be fairly calm tonight.
Oh I think I may have picked up Dan's illness, I have a sore throat now, but I'm not as dead as he was so hopefully it is just a mild catching of it.

General Update
Okay so I haven't updated in awhile, mainly because I have been busy and not that much exciting has been happening here. The kitchen is finally finished! They finished Friday around 8am yay! We had about12 groups of 8 or 9 trick or treaters per group the cutest costume was a button. I have 3 tests next week one on Wednesday and 2 on Thursday. Two Econ Tests and a History test, should be a fun week, really, uh huh, I believe it...
We're going to New Jersey next weekend for Ellie's Christening. It should be nice, but we have to leave early because we have to pick up my inlaws from BWI at 7pm, they are returning from France, hopefully they are having fun even with the riots in the city.
I've been playing a lot of Civ4 and CoV both are lots of fun. Dan has become addicted to Civ4. He was pissed last night when I finished a game in a little under 2 hours, when it took him about 12 hours to finish his game mwhaha.
We went to a computer show today which was nice there was a craft show there as well. We got a couple of Hanukah present for ourselves there which was nice. What wasn't nice was coming home. There was apparently an accident on 95 south that closed all lanes. So we tried to detour to 95 North and head through the city to get back a better way we failed. 2 hours later was were back at the show area. We stopped for an early dinner/late lunch since we were hungry and ate at Rainforest Cafe which was nice. Then headed home around 7:30pm thankfully the traffic was clear by then.
Not much else going on here. Pretty quiet the past few weeks all and all.

10 Reasons Why Gay Marriage is Wrong
1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
3) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.
4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were
allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
(one of the saddest parts about our society is that...these arguements, before the humourous common sense, are the real reasons why people can't accept gay marriages.)
(and they always go "straight"(haha) to No.10...which, funnily enough to me, is probably the last thing a gay couple is thinking about...while the "straight people," who are arguing against gay marriage, seem to be all over it. how interesting.)
Please feel free repost this on blogs/forums if you belive gay marriages should be legal!
Got this from a friend, but I think it is great, so I'm posting it here.

Not Much Exciting Going On.
I just noticed I haven't blogged in a couple of days except for random quizes. This is mainly because there isn't that much that is interesting going on right now. Dan's cyst is getting better, he needs to call and make an appointment with the surgeon to get it removed.
My Macro Economics test went fairly well I hope, there were a couple of questions I was iffy about, but I felt pretty good about it. My Micro Economics teacher lost my test, or some random something happened to it, he knows about it however, so it won't affect my grade other then the fact it may not count and my other tests and such will be weighed higher.
Last night we had a nice 4 hour demonstration from a door to door vacuum saleswoman, that was kind of neat. Now all I need to meet is a door to door encyclopedia salesperson and I will be able to call my life complete ;). We actually went and bought the vacuum, maybe we'll use it too, it is nice and has a lot of neat features and the house could use some vacuuming, we need to get it reorganized now that the kitchen is almost done.
The inspector never came last week, hopefully he'll show on Thursday since I am home for Yom Kipper, yay fasting or something. If he does come, then the contractor is planning on arriving that afternoon to start patching the holes in the walls. And he'll only have to come back one more time post that yay!
I get my tooth filled today, nope not a cavity, I apparently broke a tooth and it needs to be filled so it doesn't become a cavity. Fortunately it wasn't a horrible break and they can fill it just like a cavity rather then doing scarier dentist things to it. Novicaine is fun I'm sure my face is going to be numb all afternoon and evening.
Nothing much else is up, should be a fairly quiet week. Though I'll probably post about it anyways ;).

More ramblings
Dan has a Pilonidal Cyst which is kind of icky. He has to let it drain out today and go back to the doctor tomorrow for her to look at it and decide if he is going to need major surgery because of it. Or just minor surgery to remove the cyst. We're kind of hoping on the minor surgery obviously.
The kitchen is almost complete, they came out today and finished up most everything. The scribing is up above the upper cabnets, and everything looks good. The inspector was suppose to arrive today but it is now 4pm and he isn't here. So doubt he is actually making it today. There are like 4 things left for the contractors to do, they need to patch up the walls after the inspector arrives, calk above the scribing and well actually I think that is everything. Everything else is done yay!
We'll have to paint the guest bedroom when they are done with the wall stuff and the back room as well. Plus we'll have to touch up the painting in the kitchen. That leaves us with not to much left to do however, which is nice.
That is about it for the day I think. I have two tests on Monday which means this weekend is going to be major study time, but I don't really have anything due for the rest of the week which is nice. Overall pretty quiet day.

New Glasses and other ramblings for a deranged mind!
I now have new glasses which is nice. They are from 9 west, but I can't find a picture of the frame I got anywhere. They are cool and retro, which kheldon says means nerdy, but what does he know. Anyways I like them and the lenses are progressive which means they work like sunglasses outside and regular glasses inside yay! It took a few hours to get use to them because my astigmatism changed which meant when I got them it felt like my eye was being pulled all out of place. Atty doesn't like them either, but they are mine so it doesn't really matter as long as I like them and I do.
It looks like if there is money in the budget I'll get the job working part time for Atty which will be nice, I mean it is going to be mostly mindless tasks, but it will be nice money for mindless tasks, and I'll get to see all the "interesting" ideas for stopping hurricanes, yay giant helicopter fans!
Otherwise not too much going on, didn't go to class today thanks to Rosh Hashana, jewish holidays are nice, now all I need to do is find a temple so I can actually go to services on them.
K is getting his hair cut tomorrow (well today I guess since it is after midnight) because he is scragly, and has a mohawk I like to play with, so it is time to get him trimmed.
Otherwise besides for the fact that Atty can't really sit, walk, stand or do much without being in pain from his back, there isn't much else going on here. The kitchen is really pretty.
And tonights note, don't put tupperware in the oven. This has been a public service announcement. (and if you want to know how I know this read the kitchen blog)

Coffee Sucks
Yesterday we were at Target, our Target has a Starbucks and they have been advertising their pumpkin spice latte. So I decided to get one. You know since I like pumpkins and spices and all that. What I failed to notice was it included coffee. Ewwwwww, gross ick. So I spent 4 dollars on one sip of a Pumpkin Spice Latte, well I got Dan to take a sip too. Fortunately I was able to get rid of the taste of coffee with some nice rum and apple cider, now that is a good drink.

General Ramble Again
Turned in my Econ homework today go me. I think I did okay there was one question I wasn't sure of but the other three were fairly easy so it should be okay.
Spent a lot of the day resting, i hate migraines, I think it is a sinus/alergy migraine, I should probably see the doctor to get something for my allergies because they are pretty bad this fall, sigh I hate pollen.
Most of the sewing patterns arrived today which is nice, we still need to set up the whole sewing machine so it can be used though. We also bought some cloth and other essentials like pins and such last night.
Donuts have a ton of calories, I grabbed some krispy cremes at Target and they are 200 calories each, ouch.
Studied for Econ some, it is going to be mostly multiple choice so hopefully it won't be too bad.
Tutoring again tomorrow, think it will be 4 hours of tutoring again which is nice though long, then I'll study for math since I have a test in that class on Friday.
Hubby is sort of looking at a new perl, mysql job which is great it would be a nice raise and all for him. Hopefully he gets it. Only downside to that is I won't get the job working for him as his monkey and answering the insane emails he gets. Well I might not have gotten that job anyways. He'll likely wait till after he hears something positive or negative before bring up me being his monkey though too bad it would be a nice additional income.
Not much else going on head feels a bit better hopefully it will stay better for the rest of the fall.
Still half heartedly searching for a synagogue in the area. I really want a reformed synagogue with its own building and there doesn't seem to be anything that meets that need. There are a couple of reformed synagogues, but they look a little too reformed for me. Maybe I'll check out the Conservative Synagogue, growing two of three (maybe all three) of the synagogues we went to were right on the edge of Reformed and Conservative, so I don't think I would have a big problem with the slightly more Conservative temples. I should check some out though. Yes Rosh Hashana being next week is what made me think of that.
That's about all for tonight. Can't think of anything else really.

Comments on article from below
First the article I am commenting on is posted in the post below this one.
Now my comments. First off I see nothing wrong with the fact that these woman plan to graduate and become Stay at Home Moms. Honestly to me this is part of what the whole Feminine revolution was about, the right to be equal to men, and to make our own choices. Not the requirement that all woman have to work.
It is rather annoying to me however, to read other comments on this post as if these woman are destroying all that woman have worked for in equality. So what if they want to stay home, that is their choice and right. They have the right to do whatever they want with their education.
Honestly, I plan to be a Stay at Home Mom as well, once I have kids. I would like to get my PHD yes, but I will be quite happy staying at home with my children and hopefully homeschooling them as well.
Economically it also makes sense for one parent to stay home with the children. Child care can be expensive. Looking at childcare in the area where I live it would cost about $210 a week for daycare for one child. So around $10,000. Now let's assume I have two kids. That is $20,000 a year. Assuming I get a job that pays $60,000 a year I lose $20,000 of that to childcare. Now let's assume I am paying 40% on my taxes because my husband is also working and I'm in the top tax bracket (numbers maybe a bit off here but hey it is estimation). On my $60,000 I am paying $24,000 in taxes. So I am losing a total off $44,000 to childcare and taxes. Which means yearly off my $60,000 salary I will be seeing $16,000. Plus with both me and my husband working most likely we will be eating out a lot more then if one of us is home to make dinner. A homemade meal costs around $5 or less per person, where as a restaraunt costs around $12 minimum per person. Which will take off more of the money I am earning.
Using my basic estimation, yes if we are in a lot of debt that $16,000 will be useful from a job. However, in general I know I personally would not want to work 40+ hours a week for a net gain of $16,000 a year. So yes staying at home would not harm me financially since to even make it worthwhile I would have to get a job at $60,000 a year, which is above the average wage.
I understand people who may be upset by the idea that people are getting degrees and hope to stay home with their kids rather then work . However, education is important for everyone, and it is nice to have that backup if it is needed. People do have the right to feel as they do and financially it often is actually not a bad thing for one parent to stay home with the children especially before they enter school.
So honestly I applaud the woman who want a college degree and still want to be stay at home mothers for their children. It is good to have the choice to do so and hopefully they will be able to follow their dreams and do as they wish with their lives. And if they don't well they will have their college degree to fall back on if something happens and they do need to find a job.

Many Women at Elite Colleges Set Career Path to Motherhood
By LOUISE STORYCynthia Liu is precisely the kind of high achiever Yale wants: smart (1510 SAT), disciplined (4.0 grade point average), competitive (finalist in Texas oratory competition), musical (pianist), athletic (runner) and altruistic (hospital volunteer). And at the start of her sophomore year at Yale, Ms. Liu is full of ambition, planning to go to law school.
So will she join the long tradition of famous Ivy League graduates? Not likely. By the time she is 30, this accomplished 19-year-old expects to be a stay-at-home mom."My mother's always told me you can't be the best career woman and the best mother at the same time," Ms. Liu said matter-of-factly. "You always have to choose one over the other."
At Yale and other top colleges, women are being groomed to take their place in an ever more diverse professional elite. It is almost taken for granted that, just as they make up half the students at these institutions, they will move into leadership roles on an equal basis with their male classmates.
There is just one problem with this scenario: many of these women say that is not what they want.
Many women at the nation's most elite colleges say they have already decided that they will put aside their careers in favor of raising children. Though some of these students are not planning to have children and some hope to have a family and work full time, many others, like Ms. Liu, say they will happily play a traditional female role, with motherhood their main commitment.
Much attention has been focused on career women who leave the work force to rear children. What seems to be changing is that while many women in college two or three decades ago expected to have full-time careers, their daughters, while still in college, say they have already decided to suspend or end their careers when they have children.
"At the height of the women's movement and shortly thereafter, women were much more firm in their expectation that they could somehow combine full-time work with child rearing," said Cynthia E. Russett, a professor of American history who has taught at Yale since 1967. "The women today are, in effect, turning realistic."
Dr. Russett is among more than a dozen faculty members and administrators at the most exclusive institutions who have been on campus for decades and who said in interviews that they had noticed the changing attitude.
Many students say staying home is not a shocking idea among their friends. Shannon Flynn, an 18-year-old from Guilford, Conn., who is a freshman at Harvard, says many of her girlfriends do not want to work full time.
"Most probably do feel like me, maybe even tending toward wanting to not work at all," said Ms. Flynn, who plans to work part time after having children, though she is torn because she has worked so hard in school.
"Men really aren't put in that position," she said.
Uzezi Abugo, a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania who hopes to become a lawyer, says she, too, wants to be home with her children at least until they are in school.
"I've seen the difference between kids who did have their mother stay at home and kids who didn't, and it's kind of like an obvious difference when you look at it," said Ms. Abugo, whose mother, a nurse, stayed home until Ms. Abugo was in first grade.
While the changing attitudes are difficult to quantify, the shift emerges repeatedly in interviews with Ivy League students, including 138 freshman and senior females at Yale who replied to e-mail questions sent to members of two residential colleges over the last school year.
The interviews found that 85 of the students, or roughly 60 percent, said that when they had children, they planned to cut back on work or stop working entirely. About half of those women said they planned to work part time, and about half wanted to stop work for at least a few years.
Two of the women interviewed said they expected their husbands to stay home with the children while they pursued their careers. Two others said either they or their husbands would stay home, depending on whose career was furthest along.
The women said that pursuing a rigorous college education was worth the time and money because it would help position them to work in meaningful part-time jobs when their children are young or to attain good jobs when their children leave home.
In recent years, elite colleges have emphasized the important roles they expect their alumni - both men and women - to play in society.
For example, earlier this month, Shirley M. Tilghman, the president of Princeton University, welcomed new freshmen, saying: "The goal of a Princeton education is to prepare young men and women to take up positions of leadership in the 21st century. Of course, the word 'leadership' conjures up images of presidents and C.E.O.'s, but I want to stress that my idea of a leader is much broader than that."
She listed education, medicine and engineering as other areas where students could become leaders.
In an e-mail response to a question, Dr. Tilghman added: "There is nothing inconsistent with being a leader and a stay-at-home parent. Some women (and a handful of men) whom I have known who have done this have had a powerful impact on their communities."
Yet the likelihood that so many young women plan to opt out of high-powered careers presents a conundrum.
"It really does raise this question for all of us and for the country: when we work so hard to open academics and other opportunities for women, what kind of return do we expect to get for that?" said Marlyn McGrath Lewis, director of undergraduate admissions at Harvard, who served as dean for coeducation in the late 1970's and early 1980's.
It is a complicated issue and one that most schools have not addressed. The women they are counting on to lead society are likely to marry men who will make enough money to give them a real choice about whether to be full-time mothers, unlike those women who must work out of economic necessity.
It is less than clear what universities should, or could, do about it. For one, a person's expectations at age 18 are less than perfect predictors of their life choices 10 years later. And in any case, admissions officers are not likely to ask applicants whether they plan to become stay-at-home moms.
University officials said that success meant different things to different people and that universities were trying to broaden students' minds, not simply prepare them for jobs.
"What does concern me," said Peter Salovey, the dean of Yale College, "is that so few students seem to be able to think outside the box; so few students seem to be able to imagine a life for themselves that isn't constructed along traditional gender roles."
There is, of course, nothing new about women being more likely than men to stay home to rear children.
According to a 2000 survey of Yale alumni from the classes of 1979, 1984, 1989 and 1994, conducted by the Yale Office of Institutional Research, more men from each of those classes than women said that work was their primary activity - a gap that was small among alumni in their 20's but widened as women moved into their prime child-rearing years. Among the alumni surveyed who had reached their 40's, only 56 percent of the women still worked, compared with 90 percent of the men.
A 2005 study of comparable Yale alumni classes found that the pattern had not changed. Among the alumni who had reached their early 40's, just over half said work was their primary activity, compared with 90 percent of the men. Among the women who had reached their late 40's, some said they had returned to work, but the percentage of women working was still far behind the percentage of men.
A 2001 survey of Harvard Business School graduates found that 31 percent of the women from the classes of 1981, 1985 and 1991 who answered the survey worked only part time or on contract, and another 31 percent did not work at all, levels strikingly similar to the percentages of the Yale students interviewed who predicted they would stay at home or work part time in their 30's and 40's.
What seems new is that while many of their mothers expected to have hard-charging careers, then scaled back their professional plans only after having children, the women of this generation expect their careers to take second place to child rearing.
"It never occurred to me," Rebecca W. Bushnell, dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania, said about working versus raising children. "Thirty years ago when I was heading out, I guess I was just taking it one step at a time."
Dr. Bushnell said young women today, in contrast, are thinking and talking about part-time or flexible work options for when they have children. "People have a heightened awareness of trying to get the right balance between work and family."
Sarah Currie, a senior at Harvard, said many of the men in her American Family class last fall approved of women's plans to stay home with their children.
"A lot of the guys were like, 'I think that's really great,' " Ms. Currie said. "One of the guys was like, 'I think that's sexy.' Staying at home with your children isn't as polarizing of an issue as I envision it is for women who are in their 30's now."
For most of the young women who responded to e-mail questions, a major factor shaping their attitudes seemed to be their experience with their own mothers, about three out of five of whom did not work at all, took several years off or worked only part time.
"My stepmom's very proud of my choice because it makes her feel more valuable," said Kellie Zesch, a Texan who graduated from the University of North Carolina two years ago and who said that once she had children, she intended to stay home for at least five years and then consider working part time. "It justified it to her, that I don't look down on her for not having a career."
Similarly, students who are committed to full-time careers, without breaks, also cited their mothers as influences. Laura Sullivan, a sophomore at Yale who wants to be a lawyer, called her mother's choice to work full time the "greatest gift."
"She showed me what it meant to be an amazing mother and maintain a career," Ms. Sullivan said.
Some of these women's mothers, who said they did not think about these issues so early in their lives, said they were surprised to hear that their college-age daughters had already formed their plans.
Emily Lechner, one of Ms. Liu's roommates, hopes to stay home a few years, then work part time as a lawyer once her children are in school.
Her mother, Carol, who once thought she would have a full-time career but gave it up when her children were born, was pleasantly surprised to hear that. "I do have this bias that the parents can do it best," she said. "I see a lot of women in their 30's who have full-time nannies, and I just question if their kids are getting the best."
For many feminists, it may come as a shock to hear how unbothered many young women at the nation's top schools are by the strictures of traditional roles.
"They are still thinking of this as a private issue; they're accepting it," said Laura Wexler, a professor of American studies and women's and gender studies at Yale. "Women have been given full-time working career opportunities and encouragement with no social changes to support it.
"I really believed 25 years ago," Dr. Wexler added, "that this would be solved by now."
Angie Ku, another of Ms. Liu's roommates who had a stay-at-home mom, talks nonchalantly about attending law or business school, having perhaps a 10-year career and then staying home with her children.
"Parents have such an influence on their children," Ms. Ku said. "I want to have that influence. Me!"
She said she did not mind if that limited her career potential.
"I'll have a career until I have two kids," she said. "It doesn't necessarily matter how far you get. It's kind of like the experience: I have tried what I wanted to do."
Ms. Ku added that she did not think it was a problem that women usually do most of the work raising kids.
"I accept things how they are," she said. "I don't mind the status quo. I don't see why I have to go against it."
After all, she added, those roles got her where she is.
"It worked so well for me," she said, "and I don't see in my life why it wouldn't work."

Happy Ass Grab Day!
A friend was noting how soccer/football players like to pat each other on the ass before going out and playing the game. So we came up with a new holiday. Happy Ass Grab Day! With the motto 'show a little love, pet a butt.'

Random Thoughts
Picked up the EQ2 expansion today, not sure it was worth it since I haven't played in over a month and with school and all probably won't have a ton of time to play now. We'll see how it plays.
Sims 2 Nightlife comes out tomorrow, it looks interesting, too bad I can't play it on the laptop, oh well guess I'll hang out downstairs to play it. Which is good, spend time with Dan that way.
Been sick the last two days with a cold and it hasn't been fun at all.
Reading Gilgemesh for history it is really good actually. Impressive what people wrote 3000+ years ago. They were quite good at getting their ideas across through a story.
Ordered new glasses today, my vision got worse, blegh, well my astigmatism in my right eye did anyways. The new glasses are hot. They are black frames with colours around the inside. Which I really like. I'm getting them with a new thing so that the lens change color in the sun, so I won't have to carry around my sunglasses. The glasses cost a fair ammount, but much cheaper then getting them without insurance, yay for vision coverage when your eyes suck.
On that note the eyedoctor has this new vision test thing. Rather then putting drops in your eyes and diluting the pupil to scan the retna. They have a nifty machine that gets a much better view and no drops that screw up your eyes for hours, bonus! It cost a bit more then the other way, seeing as the other way was free, but it is a better option overall, so it was worth it. Nice east and quick. My eyes looks good, which at least means I'm not likely to go blind anytime soon yay!
My foot still hurts, but it is much better then Sunday, which is good, was just a muscle bruise I guess, which I'm glad of broken bones would not be fun. Especially not in the foot, well let's be honest it won't be fun anywhere.
I'm somewhat off my diet because of the sick thing and the whole no kitchen thing. I need to get back on it, it was working well, though the counting calories thing is a pain. Maybe I'll use a spread sheet to do it rather then on paper.
Oh on that note, we now have a stove! They came yesterday and installed the stove and microwave, so of course we ordered in last night and tonight for dinner. Mainly because there are no dishes in the kitchen since we still don't have the countertop, so it is hard to cook still, but at least we can now if we want too.
Other then that not much else has gone on in the past 2 days or so. Such is the exciting life I lead. Of school and home with the puppy and hubby.

Colds suck and my foot hurts
Today is my whine post. I'm not in class today because yesterday I fell down in a parking lot. My foot got caught in a pothole and I landed hard on my foot, knee and hand. My foot got the worst of it. My hand is fine though my wrist is a bit iffy. My knee has a bruise and my foot is in pain. It was really bad yesterday it hurt to move on it. I used a heating pad on it for a few hours last night.
This morning though we decided it would be better for me not to go to class, that way I won't be messing it up more by walking all across campus. So i am home today. Which isn't too bad, but it still hurts some, less then yesterday but still.
I also have a cold, half of it is alergies, I hate fall, all the pollen and such is out in full force and so is my urge to sneeze. But I apparently caught something as well, I had a sore throat/ear on Saturday and it expanded to a full blown cold yesterday and today.
So I'm at home in pain and with a cold, whine!

Random Rumbling
Went to the other bookstore today and they are out of the Micro Economics Packages to, so looks like I may have to bite the bullet and spend the extra 60$ blegh.
Went to the applestore as well and got my nifty keyboard cover thing for the laptop. Had lunch at the Jungle Cafe thing which was nice and got a sparkly glass. Also went to William and Sonoma, they had a sale on the stand mixers. So we got this one:

It was over 30% off so we got a really nice deal on it. Dan has been wanted one for a couple of years, so I'm glad we finally got him one.
Not much else going on it is a quiet holiday weekend. We watched the end of season 2 of Law and Order last night from NetFlicks and will start on season 3 this week. I have a bit of reading to do for homework but nothing major for any of my classes yet.
Oh I still don't have my glasses fixed hopefully I will by Tuesday, since the sunglasses look just isn't me.
Have a good day all I think I am off to play some Sims2.

Random
Let's see today was fairly quiet. I am so ready for school to start. The long summer off was nice, but I've definately hit my I'm ready to do stuff again point.
The appliance guy arrived at 8am which was way early. They dropped off the stove, microwave and dishwasher. Which was nice though they forgot to include the dishwasher kit oops. We had to go out later to get it. I was downstairs by 9am. Spent most of the day surfing the web wasn't even in the mood for any videogames.
I did read the next two sections in my Math Book. They were fairly interesting. Also read a bit more Dante which was good. Other then that not much else till hubby got home around 6.
We went out to Home Depot and got the piece the guys forgot and then headed to Petsmart and dropped of K's food and such. We then stopped at Target and I got plastic utensils and Eldest. Also picked up dinner.
Headed home and ate dinner then finished clearing out the kitchen so it is now completely empty and ready for the guys tomorrow. Other then that not much else went on this evening. As I said rather boring day. Hopefully some more of my Amazon orders arrive tomorrow.

Weird things about me
On a messageboard I visit there was a post about weird and strange things about you and that you do. I figured it was an interesting post so I'm going to transfer my answers here plus add a few more.
I am still afraid of monsters in my closet when it gets dark at night and I'm alone in the house.
I bite my nails (not sure this is really that strange or weird)
I collect dice
I almost always read a book from start to finish without a break (only textbooks and some history books have not been read this way).
I tend to read fast, really fast, but I still remember everything in the book.
I read books more then once, in fact I read most books more then 10 times.
I read at least a book a day.
I love doing mental math.
When I'm bored I'll doodle Calculus Equations.
I hate driving, I can drive and will if needed, but if I have the choice, I will always let someone else drive (except my brother, his driving scares me).
When I eat out I always tip too much, I figure a 25% tip is a good tip if I get good service.
I hate calling anyone on the phone, I don't mind answering the phone, but I won't actually call anyone but my husband and my parents.
I plan to be a stay at home mother once I have kids. I also plan to homeschool them and teach them Latin, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi and Spanish. Latin, Greek and Hebrew will begin being taught before they are 7.
I am attempting to become fluent in Hebrew and am planning to take Hebrew at school for the next 4 semesters.
I love to travel if I had the money I would travel year round and visit every country at least once.
I don't watch TV, I haven't watched TV, except on vacations in over 5 years (we don't have cable and I only watch dvds). However even when I do watch TV on DVDs the only TV shows I watch are Law and Order and Dead Like Me.
I love everything Disney, and own almost all the Disney movies on DVD except for the straight to DVD sequels and Pochohantus (spelling off, the history was too bad for me to actually want to see this movie).
I enjoy reading math textbooks in my spare time.
I sleep with 4 pillows, two under my head, one for my legs and one to snuggle with.
I have a hard time sleeping if the room is not pitch black and if there is any noise.
I hate chatspeak and 133tspeak, I can understand it, but it drives me crazy when people use it.
I collect socks. Everytime I go to Target if I pass the sock section I'll buy a new pair of socks.
I sort my M&Ms and Reeces Pieces by color before I eat them. Unless they are on icecream.
If I sleep on my left side I have to sleep with my arm under my head. If I sleep on my right side I can't sleep with my arm under my head.
I hate getting shots or blood drawn, I hate the needle that is. Once it is in I love watching the blood flow out of my body.
I can not sit still without fidgiting. I normally try to keep something around that I can play with in my hands, but if nothing is around I'll tap my fingers and shake my legs.
Okay now that I've scared you all away from my blog, I promise that most of my idiosyncrasies don't appear in public.

First Entry
Welcome to my blog. Not that anyone really knows about it yet. This is a place for me to type out frustrations, updates on my life or just general randomess. I am proud to say I have finally finished organizing the site, I think it looks good now and I think I like the color scheme at least so far. We'll see how I feel about it tomorrow. Other then that welcome to my new blog. No promises about how often I'll update, I might update entries 2 times a day or I may go months without an entry, who knows. Anyways here goes nothing.
